Why I'm Running
"I’ve had enough of politicians who put themselves and special interests first. I’m a dad, businessman, and former NFL player, and I’m not afraid to fight for what’s right, including standing up against book bans in Huntington Beach. I’ll stand up to both parties in Sacramento to protect our freedoms, lower the cost of living, and help families get ahead. We deserve better." —Chris

Meet Chris
Chris Kluwe has never been afraid to raise his voice, stand up, and fight for people when it matters most. Chris is not a politician. He’s a former NFL player, coach, and writer, as well as a longtime advocate who stays involved in his community.
Chris is fed up with the power that corporate special interests have in Sacramento and with politicians who put their own agendas ahead of the people. He’s running for State Assembly to bring his strong voice to the legislature and stand up for the working people and middle-class families that are being left behind.

Fighting for Our Community
Kluwe is an independent outsider who will take on the system that’s built to enrich corporate donors and career politicians, and believes politicians should spend less time playing politics and more time solving problems by lowering costs, cutting government waste and red tape, improving public schools, and helping working families get ahead.
Kluwe will stand up to both parties in Sacramento, and he will bring practical, independent leadership to the Assembly focused on growing our economy, getting people off the street and into affordable housing or addiction care, and making Sacramento work better for everyday Californians.
Strengthen public education
Make government work for people
Lower costs in housing and healthcare
Protect our freedoms
Ensure clean and safe beaches, parks, and neighborhoods
Chris is people-powered. That will never change!

Chris Kluwe has some stuff to say
"Yesterday, Chris Kluwe came to my class to chat about his days as a punter at UCLA, then for the Minnesota Vikings. Chris is just a really good dude. Honest. Earnest. Refreshingly nerdy and down to earth. There are no airs, no sense of entitlement. Again—a good dude.
Before class, we sat down for pizza, and chatted about his run against the out-of-her-mind Gracey Van Der Mark, who puts the Q in QAnon and the cashews in nuts.
